Operation Failed... disk is too large

Post by billaking »

Purchased on 3.17.2023
Arrived and setup on 3.19.2023 3:26PM

1st problem: Cannot use my current drives: I spent the entire Friday and Saturday with anticipation to receive my new D4-3000 by copying 6 TB of data onto a 8 TB hard disk with an understanding from comments during my purchase on Amazon that says you just plug-in your existing drives and it works. Well my 8TB drive says it is not initialized. No problem, I will stick my two 4TB drives into the D4-300.

2nd problem: In Mac Utilities the 4TB is set to 500GB and not 4TB and its name is disk4s1 & disk5s1. I changed the view to see all and was able to see TDAS TerraMaster Media and clicked on the name. There I see 4TB. I click Erase and get a error:

Erasing "TDAS TerraMaster Media" and creating Bay1.
Erase process has failed. Click Done to continue.
The disk is too large to be supported by the given partition scheme. :
Operation failed...

I will plan to return this product to Amazon if I cannot get help.

Make sure you use an original cable that comes with the device, or use a good quality USB cable. If not, change your cable and try again.
