I have the following system configuration:

Late 2013 Mac Pro
• macOS Catalina 10.15.6
• 2.7 GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon E5
• 128 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
• AMD FirePro D500 3 GB

I am considering the following setup:

• TerraMaster TD2 Thunderbolt 3 or TD2 Thunderbolt 3 Plus.
• Install two identical 1TB SSD's and configure them as RAID-0.
• Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter.

Question.
Will my Mac Pro boot from the above RAID-0 setup?

The whole thing may appear an overkill for a 7-year-old Mac Pro. But, I am hoping that this scheme will let me easily move to a new Mac with a Thunderbolt 3 interface early next year.

The answer is yes if your Mac have a thunderbolt 3 port. To connect with a thunderbolt 2, you need to purchase an adapter, for this case, we are not sure if it can boot properly. We did not test like this, I can’t tell.
