(File Snapshot is run every day)
Can someone explain this? So, if I configure file system snapshots to be kept for 10 days and one day I delete for example a 10gig file.
So what happens after the 10 days since I deleted the file? Does the space that the 10gig file took up get released?

But If I manually delete a snapshot before the 10 day aging, that 10gig file space will be released then?

The message explains the manual delete, but not the aging out of snapshot files.

For the deleted file, as long as there is at least one snapshot that captured it before deletion, it will still occupy space waiting for recovery. Conversely, if all related snapshots are deleted, the space occupied by the file will be released, regardless of whether it was done manually or automatically.
Based on the usage scenario you described, snapshots of this 10GB file can exist for a maximum of 10 days, after which they will be completely deleted and no longer occupy space.
