Installing 5.1.24 did resolve the issue of dlna devices seeing and accessing the media files.

Interestingly, the dlna devices now show the TNAS servers with the Linux Penguin icon. Under 5.0.176 the TNAS servers were represented by a blue box.

I have 2 x F2-221's. Both were running 5.0.176. I downloaded the 5.1.24 update package in order to run the manual updates. One of the F2-221's completed the update without any issues.
