Re: TOS 5.1.40 (X86) is Released for update
Can we install 5.1.40 on a system with \2gb if we delete volumes and partitions first and start over?

Re: NAS Unresponsive - Load 100%
Do you have a lot of photos and music files? Try turning off media indexing next time you log in. If it was in the middle of reading and creating an index, it seems to start over with the hard reboots.

Re: Lights stay on red for both bays and no LAN light
Hi. So I have a F2-220 and am experiencing the same problem as someone else on here. Was working fine then it started making a tone and, as I wasn't home, someone turned the unit off. I thought it might be the initBoot and so I followed the instructions to create a new one. Upon attaching the USB (...

Re: Scheduled task not running
Grateful if someone could clarify if this is an issue with "Scheduled Tasks" (as defined in control panel) or tasks set in "USB Copy". Is there a difference? My scheduled USB copies thru the USB Copy utility have not been happening as scheduled (everyday at 6pm). I've been using...

Re: TOS 5.1.34 (X86) is Released for update
Plus we shouldn't have to download the updates. I don't know why the automatic update mechanism seems to have been broken for 5.x. Some of us prefer to do manual updates only. I don't even allow auto updates on my non-production system. I test every version before using it in a live system. These a...

[at=titanrx8 post_id=27154 time=1684588679 user_id=2017][/at] thanks a lot, hope to hear experiences from many users. Now something strange happened. I wrote that my "/" element had LESS than 200MB of free space; now it's full 1.47/1.84 GB: that means MORE than 200MB. I don't understand w...

Re: TOS 5.1.34 (X86) is Released for update
It seems to me that I must fresh reinstall TOS formatting my hard drives... If I did that, would I solve these issues? Which kind of filesystem should I choose? It's currently EXT4: is BTRFS a better choice? Thanks I started with btrfs on my first TNAS but switched to ext4 because in an emergency I...

Re: TOS 5.1.34 (X86) is Released for update
With this whole partition issue, after issues I managed to finally update to 5.1.34 but don't want issues in the future. I am using 1 of my 2 bays but wanted to get a 2nd drive anyway. Would I be able to remove the current one, set up a new drive and format and set up TOS 5.1 from new? Then place m...

Re: Backing up a F5-422
I just ordered a F5-422 NAS to replace my Drobo 5D DAS which I backup to an original Drobo 4 bay DAS.. I will need something to backup the F5-422 to. Are you guys just buying a second NAS like F5-221 that doesn't need a 10gb port just for backing up the F5-422. My current main DAS has five 4tb iron...

Re: The Brand New TOS 5.1.24 is released for update!
I accidentally updated my production unit to 5.1.24 a few days ago. Actually needed to do a "new" install because the update package kept failing. I restored the config file from 5.0.76 and everything I needed was set correctly. The only issue I found was that the first 24 hours after the ...
