Re: TOS 4.1.30 is released for update

As an example, the TOS interface shows my F5-221 has 6GB total memory (2GB onboard + 4GB addon) and runs at a fairly steady 30%ish memory usage. If I look at the free memory displayed in the command line it shows only about 600MB which would work out at over 90% usage, however if I look at the avail...

Re: TOS 4.1.30 is released for update

Have a read of: https://www.networkworld.com/article/2722141/making-sense-of-memory-usage-on-linux.html The concept of "free" memory on Linux is a little different to what you might be familiar with in the Windows world. free vmstat top cat /proc/meminfo The ssh shell commands above will a...

Re: Network Speed

Have you tried swapping the cable from one of your other devices to rule out a bad cable?

Re: SSD Cache - How to select / check actual mode?

Hi, If you're comfortable using a shell login to the NAS, type the command: dmsetup table This will show the current status of the SSD cache when enabled. The cache type in use by TOS is called "flashcache", more info and bedtime reading here: https://delightlylinux.wordpress.com/2016/05/0...

ClamAV Version older than stated in applications

I've just noticed that the version of ClamAV installed from applications is V0.102.0 but it says it should be V0.102.3?

Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help, the package is listed as V0.102.3 but it's always V0.102.0 that gets installed.

Code: Select all

[root@TNAS-xxxxx ~]# clamscan -V
ClamAV 0.102.0

Re: How to update Clam AV

Wow, I've literally just been looking in to this issue myself, talk about coincidence. What I've found is that the latest versions of ClamAV use https to download the definition updates but the TOS operating system doesn't appear to be setup to allow this correctly, /etc/ssl/certs folder is empty fo...

Re: Transfer files from f2 to f4

It may be possible with some manual configuration but I'm not sure what the advantage would be? How would you access them if their LAN ports are connected to each other? Having both connected to the switch would be how I'd do it.

Re: Seagate IronWolf 6TB NAS HD Freezing in F2-421

I have 2 F5-420 NAS with (5) 12 TB Seagate Iron Wolf Drives in Each, both have been upgraded to 8GB RAM, and they were both stable until this recent TOS. 1 had been running continuously since February, the other since last October. Since the TOS upgrade however, (forced by a recent upgrade in Plex)...

I've got 4 x 4TB Ironwolf drives in my F5-221 and have never seen this happen, what TOS version are you running on?

Re: HOW TO INSTALL FREENAS

You need to start pressing the del key sooner in the process, if you're getting to the linux login then it's too late. Start tapping the del key as soon as the display comes up on the monitor, just keep tapping it regardless and you should end up at the blue and grey bios screen. FYI the username ro...
