Re: TOS 5 Key Features and Enhancements

TRAID launched mid-2022 with TOS 5. You're not suggesting TerraMaster has only started their research, development and testing on a feature on the same day they launched it? Because if you are, TerraMaster should explain themselves. It certainly doesn't seem like it's worth using if it's still suff...

Re: TOS 5 Key Features and Enhancements

With TRAID being so new, haven't used it on any TNAS, and with these kind of issues being related to it, will continue to avoid it. It's unfortunate that the experience isn't the same as choosing any of the RAID options, yet. TRAID is new, as in experimental or unstable? This has been a flaghsip fe...

I would be very surprised if you found a change. The troubleshooting instructions provided by TM support are quite basic and doesn't really change anything.

Re: TOS 5 Key Features and Enhancements

It seems that when I first open the control panel, go to the Pool section and first click on the (far right) MENU ICON, Data scrubbing appears, but disappears again quick as a rat up a drain pipe. Blink and you can miss it and it won't appear again. Looks like some menu manipulation going on. If th...

Re: TOS 5 Key Features and Enhancements

It's present in TOS 5.1.× builds, possibly earlier as well. It's under Control Panel → Storage Pool; select the pool you'll be scrubbing & under the last icon (far right) on the 5 icon bar, data scrubbing is available. It's not showing on mine. btrfs in a TRAID pool running latest 5.1. TM suppo...

Re: TOS 5 Key Features and Enhancements

Data Scrubbing
Performing data scrubbing regularly ensures data consistency in the array and reduces the risk of data loss in the event of a hard drive failure.
Where did this "feature" go?

Re: TOS 5.1.131 (X86) is Released for Update

Data scrubbing on btrfs TRAID volumes doesn't work on .131. It's crazy that TOS's flagship RAID configuration and recommended filesystem (btrfs) doesn't support one of the key tools for protecting and maintaining data integrity. Also, I secure wiped my drives only to find after re-installing TOS tha...

Yup. 5.1.131 also apparently broke the data scrubbing function for TRAID btrfs pools.

Re: Trying to remote mount SMB folder

Thanks. Would be great if @Gremlin could confirm if those steps work for him. But what about for mounting SMB shares on routers and other NASes? In my case, it's an ASUS RT-AX88U running the latest ASUS firmware with an attached 12TB external drive as a password-protected SMBv2 share. I think one ot...
