Hi im thinking of resetting everything as described to get the 8gb.
All my backup files are on external HDD's is it possible to plus these directly into the NAS rather than copying over the network as last time it took days plus ties up my laptop the whole time. Thanks

5.1.34 on 2gb, can I go back to 5.0?
Hi, last year before we realised that you shouldn't update TOS to 5.1.34 on 2gb of RAM I somehow managed to do it, it maybe because I'm using JBOD no RAID. However I do occasionally experience a few issues such as very slow read/write speeds and was thinking of either going back to TOS 5 or even 4, ...

I was having issues with a Smarty sim which even though runs on the 3 network uses CGNAT.
After lots of investigating turns out if you use an actual proper 3 sim (which I now have) then everything works fine
It's a quiet technical and beyond me but apparently a lot of MVNO carriers have this issue.

Resolved, was nothing to do with NAS or Router was my ISP using something called CGNAT, have swapped SIM card and all good.

Hi, I had my PMS on a Nvidia Shield and have today set it up on my TNAS instead, everything great apart from I'm unable to access outside of my network. I'm pretty certain this is a router issue but is there anything in TOS that I need to enable etc because I've exhausted everything in my router set...

Phew figured it out, i had to go in shield settings and mount the TNAS as network accessible storage then via plex web the TNAS was now available and able to find movies TV etc

Im not sure why I would install plex media server on the TNAS I have a plex media server on my Nvidia shield, im just looking for a correct filepath structure to point the Nvidia to the files on my TNAS nothing ive tried works surely there is a simple way to find the files??
