I can add my onvif compliant camera but get no live view, when I try to watch recordings they also don't play although he is recording and the image shows up on the thumbnail

ONVIF is a standard protocol. The fact various cameras don't work makes it pretty obvious you didn't follow the documentation when implementing it.

If you aren't going to do things right might as well not do them. This is mediocre work, you should be ashamed.
