Re: With the conditions for editing RAID, the edit button of the storage pool is still gray and cannot be clicked?
Also, the instructions are incorrect. When trying to add the 5th disk to a RAID6 pool with that procedure it just added it as a spare, it will not actually reshape the RAID: md0 : active raid6 sde4[5](S) sda4[0] sdd4[4] sdc4[2] sdb4[1] 35149936640 blocks super 1.2 level 6, 64k chunk, algorithm 2 [4/...

Re: With the conditions for editing RAID, the edit button of the storage pool is still gray and cannot be clicked?
I have the same problem, I cannot add the 5th disk to a 4 disk RAID6. But my drives are the same model and the exact same size, so this is clearly a TOS bug: Disk /dev/sda: 16.4 TiB, 18000207937536 bytes, 35156656128 sectors Disk /dev/sdb: 16.4 TiB, 18000207937536 bytes, 35156656128 sectors Disk /de...

Re: Instructions for Adding HDDs to RAID
This is not working for me. I have a RAID 6 with 4 disks, and I want to add the 5th disk to the RAID. But the is no edit option for the RAID 6 storage pool, I can only delete the RAID 6 pool. This is the final step of upgrading from a RAID 1 with 2 disks to a RAID 6 with 5 disks. And after waiting f...

Unable to add a disk to a RAID 6 pool
I have an F5-422 on TOS 4.2.40 (which the update function claims to be the latest version, although I see some talk here about TOS 6 already). I started with a RAID 1 storage pool with 2 disks, then I bought 3 more disks with the intention to convert the RAID 1 pool to a RAID 6 pool with 5 disks in ...

Used space slowly going down after deleting files
I have a TNAS F5-422 on TOS 4.2.40. After deleting a few large files from a SMB share, 3 TB total, it took about an hour for the free disk space to actually reflect the difference. It was very slowly going up, KB by KB, regardless which tool I used to check the free disk space (SSH, SMB, Web UI). Th...

Re: Hard drive keep "click, click, click" noise?
There is no need to wait for the end, but performance may be lower when used during this period (especially when synchronous). I have an F5-422. In my case the two HDDs were and still are empty, and it finished the initial synchronization of the RAID 1 storage pool about 12 hours ago. However, it's...
