Re: Instructions for Adding HDDs to RAID
I have a problem with adding a disk to the TRAID. Here are all the steps I took reading this post and they seem correct to me: Starting situation, single disks not in raid: - I have a NAS F5-221 5 slot - Slot 1 = SSD 128 Gbyte with TOS v. 5.1.145 - Slot 2 = HD Exos 18 Tb with about 14 Tb of data. I ...

Re: Cloning the system.
So many questions.... Did you initialise the 4TB HDD when it was first installed? Did you create any file systems on it? Can you determine the partition structure on the 100GB SSD? (On another device for example) Can you also determine the partition structure on 4TB HDD? How were the 3x18TB HDD con...

Complete TOS system backup
How can I backup the entire TOS v5.1.145 system and have a complete restore of all installed apps and configurations?
In case the system disk breaks, replacing it with a new one.
Thanks

Re: Cloning the system.
EDIT:
I tried now. I removed all the disks leaving only the 4TB HD But it doesn't work! At the start I heard three beeps then you only see the lights on the power, the HD1 and the flashing lan light.

Re: Cloning the system.
You were asking about cloning the os. If your ssd is part of a raid then naturally removing it will degrade the raid. I suggested inserting the new disk to clone the os. If you remove the ssd, the raids (there are more than 1) will need repairing. this can be done by substituting the new disk for t...

Re: Cloning the system.
Simply put 'It doesn't work like that'! In TOS5, the operating system is present on ALL disks in the unit. They are configured as RAID 1 - so a mirror copy is on each disk. Remove 1 disk and the operating system should still boot with all the settings. Put in a new disk and the o/s will be mirrored...

Re: Cloning the system.
@TMWut: Sorry but it is not clear at all, I need a step-by-step procedure to follow, I know by myself that the backup exists, but which product allows the cloning of the operating system? :?: Detailed summary of what I need: Good morning. I'll start by saying that even though I know a lot about comp...

Re: Help to understand how to copy files to nas disks.
Thanks for the detailed information. I was able to create folders and understand how they work. :D Now if I don't disturb too much I would like to understand why I can't open the SMB page for copying files. It's true that I'm using a program to copy (Teracopy) and it seems fast enough, but I'd like ...

Help to understand how to copy files to nas disks.
I have a Nas Terramaster F5-221. I'm a novice in the field of NAS and networks in general, even if I know enough about PCs. I've put 3 hd in it for now, all created as single disks, no-raid. The first is a 128 Gb SSD in which I have inserted the TOS 5.1.24 system and where, I think and hope, the var...
