After upgrade to 5.1.123 at 14-Feb-24 TNAS cannot join MS domain
We need syslog, which wont work in 5.1.40 well, so we upgrade to 5.1.123 and we lost MS active directory. Same bugs at every update. I wrote to tech support at almost every day, but I believe they continue to celebrate Festival of Spring. My last e-mail was at 20.02.2024. No reaction. If company wan...

Re: Snapshot orpan files cannot be removed
Another idea for Terramaster R&D: 1. An administrator should be reported if snapshot size is over threshold, e.g. snaphot size is bigger than 5% of total RAID size, else free space may be easily lost and system performance would suffer of extra disk i/o and processor load. 2. Making snapshots sh...

Re: Snapshot orpan files cannot be removed
I believe! A snapshot that is not protected (by 'read only' file system for example) is not worth much as a system protection. However, as I learnt to my cost, if you play around with the snapshots, they will chew up space. Again, for example, if you copy a snapshot to another location (thinking to...

Re: Snapshot orpan files cannot be removed
After adding of new disk I have another problem. I lost, for unknown reason, all iSCSI targets and LUNs definitions.
A question for all these techsupp guys, who ignores this post - HOW TO RESTORE IT?

After upgrade to 5.1.40 for unknown reason no access to SMB shares and no remote access via SSH
TOS_X642.0_5.1.40, U2-233
After upgrade to 5.140 stops access by SSH (while service is enabled and configured), and no any access by SMB to shares.
Cold reboot restores access by SSH and SMB shares, but this is no good.

Re: Update to TOS_X642.0_5.1.33 causes loose of LDAP connection and very poor overall performance
btrfs does not require too much memory even 60TB is not an issue. Processes of care and cleanup in btrfs often require much more memory than it suggested. Depends on data arrangement, and fixups at restart to restore clean status of FS. btrfs_traansacti for example. I have noticed this one overload...

Re: Update to TOS_X642.0_5.1.33 causes loose of LDAP connection and very poor overall performance
Upgrading RAM to 32Gb (2x16) solved this problem. At moment the memory load achieved 29Gb (due to BTRFS tasks, possibly), but swap is clean, no HDD involved, so it works. Please, check this firmware with 8GB ram and BTRFS volume size ~60TB, try to update, and do any tasks at web interface, at some m...

I successfully tried to access console. top shows overload of physical memory (8GB RAM) and overuse of swap:
