Re: Moving OS/System, All Apps to SSD?

Not sure I understand.

There is data on the TRAID array, you want me to take my existing drives out, install only the SSD and then reinstall the system? What about my original array?

Moving OS/System, All Apps to SSD?

Hey guys, I want to move the whole system and all apps, processes etc. to my installed SSD. This way I can keep the large (and more noisy) TRAID for storage and streaming only and let it sleep when I don't need to access it, while all processes run on the SSD. How would I go about doing this? I've h...

"Disk health warnning: /dev/sdf" ?

I'm receiving "Disk health warnning: /dev/sdf" via email notification as S.M.A.R.T. report even though all disks show up as healthy. Any idea what causes this? Shortly before I had restored my shared folders to Volume 1.

Adding SSD for System/Applications + TRAID for Media

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to best set up my T6-423 NAS in terms of speed, noise level and longevity of my larger drives (16TB IronWolfs). I'm thinking of adding an SSD for the "everyday" processes like the system itself, backups of local machines, torrents (seeding), Plex serv...

Setting Password for Transmission Web Control?

Hey guys,

unlike with the desktop Transmission, there is no option to set a password for access to the WEB UI of Transmission 3.0.7. Is there a way to still set one via command line?

Thanks!

Re: How do i Create SSD Cache

I was wondering this as well and learned that even "empty" disks contain zeros and ones that have to be synced between drives. It took ages on my 16 TB as well.

[at=Scare post_id=22038 time=1666289824 user_id=5797][/at] Not, they are different. If you are a TOS 5 user, you should know you have a "Snapshot" too, find it in app center. Does the integrated File System Snapshot function in Backup under TOS 5.0 now work the same as the Snapshot app fr...

Re: Created second storage pool/volume, can't access first one

Another reboot and "Restore Shared Folders to Volume 1" later I can access the folder via AFP/SMB again, still the folder is not visible in Control Panel > Shared Folder.

Re: Created second storage pool/volume, can't access first one

Go to Control Panel - Shared Folder, click "More" - "Advanced Settings" to restore the shared folders to the original volume. This worked for now, but sadly after a reboot of the NAS the user folder is back to Volume 2 and is not visible in "Shared Folder" to set it ba...
