Re: New TOS 6 File Management Experience

The 'update' beyond 4.2.× remains in limbo with the developers per themselves ( TMRoy ) @ https://forum.terra-master.com/en/viewtopic.php?p=33890#p33890; there's a slim chance something is being worked on & may eventually become available with likely TOS 4.3.× or possibly TOS 5.×.× build number...

Since it's in a volume with other drives, what structure is that volume?

RAID-1 (mirror) would allow you to 'lose' one drive if it's just 2 drives, as would RAID-5 should one be lost if it's just 3 drives.

The F4-420 is listed in your post, however TMRoy has stated that the 420 series is not supported on TOS 6 builds (furthermore, it wasn't part of the closed beta; it was excluded since the Insider Preview email).

Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing

Since the launch of the 220/420 series in 2016, we have been delighted to witness this product line, now 8 years old, faithfully serving your needs. However, as time progresses and technology advances rapidly, the aging nature of this series renders it incompatible with the latest software, and eve...

Re: New TOS 6 File Management Experience

… is that now your excuse for not upgrading it to TOS 5, and soon TOS 6? The SoC in the 210 series devices lacks newer Linux kernel support due to its manufacturer (RealTek) choosing not to develop it further; every NAS manufacturer that uses the RTD1296b is in the exact same situation. TOS builds ...

Didn't type that anywhere; am fully aware the 220 series is ×86/×64 (own one in fact), just mentioned that it's excluded from these TOS 6 beta builds & their age.

Re: TOS 5.1.123 (X86) is Released for Update

A few releases continued on the previous builds until a few releases out of beta for the newer TOS build; would expect that this remains the case. Previously, once there was an .INS file to do a fresh installation of the newest TOS build for the majority of the TNAS devices, Terra-Master slowed dev...

They weren't in the closed beta either.

The 220 series devices were launched in 2016; they've aged out so ending future TOS support was going to happen eventually.

The closed beta and this public one are for the ×86/×64 models (excluding the 220 series).

If & when there are TOS 6 builds for the newer ARMv8.2 RTD1619b based 211/212 series devices, it would have its own separate thread.

Re: f4-423 internal usb power limit

It's USB 2.0, so it's either limited to 100 mA (low power) or 500 mA (high power), with the former being most likely due to being an internal connection.
