Unable to expand storage pool after RAID migration
Happy New Year, I recently added drives and migrated from RAID 1 (with two 6TB drives) to RAID 5 (with four 6 TB drives). Everything went smoothly and all is showing as "good." But I am unable to increase the volume size to add the available capacity. I go into volume, edit, and add the fre...

Re: RAID 1 to raid 5 migration
OK nevermind... Since there were no other options available, I went ahead and confirmed the migration on setting of RAID 1. After that, the system displayed a migration process to RAID 5. It would be helpful if the menu screen would display a short phrase explaining that. (this will convert your poo...

Re: RAID 1 to raid 5 migration
Yes I figured that out already. My problem now is the first part of my yquestion. The system does not show an noption to go to RAID 5. It stays at RAID 1.

Re: RAID 1 to raid 5 migration
Also... The two empty disks are showing when I edit the pool but if I try to select both of them in my attempt to migrate from raid 1 to raid 5, a message pops up and says "You can only select one disk."

RAID 1 to raid 5 migration
Hi
I have got raid 1 with 2 disks in my F4-210 and want to go to Raid 5. I have added 2 more disks but
When I go to edit the storage pool it only stays at raid 1 and no option to change.
Please can you advise me how to do it .
Thanks

Re: Replace all drives and change RAID
it seems this is not possible, you just can not replace your drive which is already configured in a RAID with a smaller size new drive. you have to back up your data, delete the current RAID 1, and rebuild a new RAID 5 with your 4TB drives. Thanks... I was afraid of that. What if I added two more 6...

Replace all drives and change RAID
I have a Terramaster F4-210 currently set up as RAID 1 (mirror) using two 6TB Ironwolf drives. I want to replace the two 6 TB drives with four 4 TB drives and convert to RAID 5. There IS currently data stored on the system. Could someone please outline the steps I would take?
Thanks
