Re: Encrypted Shares
The question is: how do I decrypt the share on another machine in case I need to swap the drive or the TNAS breaks down?

Re: Encrypted Shares
I humbly submit that this is yet another feature that renders TNAS a useless machine.
Every single other Operating System out there has some kind of interoperability when it comes to data encryption, so that as long as you have the key, token or passphrase, you are able to decrypt.

Encrypted Shares
So, the encryption mount/unmount system works fairly well in TOS. Two questions: 1. What if I want to permanently unencrypt the share? Is there a method to do this? The only recommendation I could find was to move the data from the encrypted share to an unencrypted share. This is not always workable...

Re: TNAS on TOS 5: The NAS that cannot NAS
@TMroy AFP: the user that has been created does not have access to all the shares he should be seeing. SMB: When copying a file into an encrypted share, the file copying process fails. SFTP: Status: Connecting to 192.168.***.***:9191... Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=11 Command: open &qu...

Re: Permissions are broken
@TMwuu TOS version is 5.1.29-00343 on a F5-221. I have created a user, let's call him "Zorro". I have given the user access to a bunch of shares. I get on my MacBook Pro and attempt to connect to TNAS. Connection is successful but not all shares the users has access to are visible . Checki...

Re: [ Nextcloud ] Self-hosted productivity platform
Thanks for that - took a bit of troubleshooting to sort out iOS devices because of a secret missing error.
Android started working about a day later mysteriously.

Re: [ Nextcloud ] Self-hosted productivity platform
Push notifications: These do not seem to be working in the current version. I have tried the instructions provided here: https://github.com/nextcloud/talk-ios/blob/master/docs/notifications.md And it looks like the problem is all the way in the end: ter_curl https://push-notifications.nextcloud.com ...

TNAS on TOS 5: The NAS that cannot NAS
Afp: broken, SMB: broken, SFTP: broken. Installed 5.1.29, no improvement. AFP No longer accessible via admin/superuser. Must create new non-admin user. User created, permissions to shares added. Trying to access from MacBook Pro: half of the shares are missing. Restarted TNAS. No joy. Are there logs...

Re: SFTP Access

Permissions are broken
I have created a new user (non-admin) on my system and gave him read/write permission on a number of shares (large volumes of files) so I can access them via afp (afp does not work if you are a super-user in TOS 5). Since I did this, it is impossible to open the permissions window of network shares ...
