using 4.2.17 with fan patch when you use the internal file manager and transfer 500 gigs or more to an external usb device, the entire system locks up and you have to reboot :( I don't know the exact amount that I transferred but this is second time, moving large data sets and the entire nas needing...

I concur, the smart fan control does not work.
my hard drives are at 44 Celsisus during moderate activity. Before this update, they were 32/33 Celsisus
