Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
Well since my last post, the F2-210 has frozen four more times. It currently has a 250GB Barracuda (MAIN) along with the additional 16TB drive. On a hard power-off and re-start it recovered in all but the last (just now) time. It is really frustrating, not being able to get any kind of reliability ...

Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
It won't prove anything. As from what I'd read, I had made the pre/assumption that TOS was installed on the USB Stick. I'd installed it on a 250GB Barracuda, then once installed, I'd swapped that out for the 16TB. If TOS was on the 250GB that could have caused subsequent failures. I've now got both ...

Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
Sorry, was under the impression from what others said that TOS was installed on the USB Stick. Seems that has not happened.
So how am I supposed to install TOS without wiping my 16TB HDD?!?!

Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
Just looked at a youtube video and seen that is exactly you take it apart, so I'll check it out. Does anyone know the specs for the OS USB Stick/Port? In the video he took out a 8GB SanDisk, don't know if it's USB 2/3 though.

Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
I put a old HDD I had laying round in and restarted, got it to reinstall TOS, worked ok. Then turned off, replaced with my original 16TB HDD and it worked fine. Set up the users that I lost from the crash and everything seemed ok... Then 2 hrs later, it stops responding again. It doesn't appear to b...

Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
[at=aSystemOverload post_id=13429 time=1633121940 user_id=3849][/at] The other way to restore a TM NAS is to replace the corrupted internal USB drive that holds the boot loader. I fixed a bricked f2-221 by installing a quality "fit size" 32gb USB key with the TNAS software installed on it...

Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
Firstly, yes it has everything to do with how long a HDD has been used for. The longer you have it, the more 'mileage' it has, the greater the chance of failure. However, it is an Enterprise Class HDD, which have a much lower rate of failure, so there is a very small chance it has failed. True, I co...

Re: F2-210 - Unresponsive
The symptom seems the file system in your drive is crashed or your drive is defective, please backup your data and format your drive, re-install the TOS, and try again. if it still fails, please change to a new drive. This is a several month old datacentre hard drive. How has your OS become corrupt...

F2-210 - Unresponsive
Hi, I've had my F2-210 since July and it's been ok, no problems. But I went to access some files and I couldn't (from Windows and Linux on the local network). I tried to log in, but the IP times out. Left it an hour, still nothing, so I try tapping the power button to trigger a poweroff. Nothing, le...
