Mine wasn’t usb it was from mac OS X across the network at about 10MB according to the software I was using and using AFP

The lock ups are not limited to using internal tools I was copying a few gigs of data using AFP last night in 2 or 3 different threads and the nas locked up more than once but luckily for me it didn’t need a reboot just to wait for a few minutes

can confirm, that actually mine is exhibiting the same issues, fan is set to smart
