Re: How to add RAM module to TerraMaster NAS
Nice to know, really glad TM reversed this change as the hardware is top notch, too bad some of us already left for greener pastures on the software side .

[at=TMSupport post_id=21349 time=1663494544 user_id=59][/at] I suggest to leave this post for other to read the warnings, if you consider the post offensive as I added some 3rd party software alternatives, please edit them out but leave the warnings about CPU temps and the respective settings... It ...

Re: F4-423 Boot Loop with TOS5 but Works fine with TrueNAS
[at=DodgeDeBoulet post_id=21737 time=1665284533 user_id=5582][/at] Sorry for my last message, the damn autocorrect made a mess of it ;) Anyway, I had no idea TrueNAS Scale is now stable, I already bought 1x 512 SSD and I'm moving my data slowly on 2x 2 TB HDDs I had laying around. Can't wait to give...

Re: Advantages to adding memory?
As long as you buy only Terramaster RAM, (3rd party ram will block TOS from loading) you will be able to use more services, but basically if you don't use any virtualization you should be good with the included 4GB. Another advantage is that memory usage usually increases in time (bugs, memory leaks...

Re: T6-423 wich RAM to buy ?
What @TMRoy fails to mention is that ONLY that module will work, so don't buy any 3rd party RAM.
TOS won't load with any "unverified" RAM, 3rd party OS still work with basically everything.

Re: F4-423 Boot Loop with TOS5 but Works fine with TrueNAS
I've been running TrueNAS for two full weeks now. Zero issues, and no apparent incompatibility with the Samsung memory that has the exact same specifications as the TerraMaster modules listed on their website. Oddly, TOS5 will not run with it. How is TrueNas, I only need MariaDB, a Security App, Vi...

This is the same issue as I'm describing here in this post:
viewtopic.php?f=82&t=2283&start=50#p21729
Basically Terramaster is blocking ALL 3rd party memory options.

2 extra options beside what I gave you are on the above page.
That should work for you IF they didn't used the machine as a testbed for what they're doing now with the 223/423 series.
