Re: [HOW TO] Set up NUT netclient mode on your TNAS to monitor a UPS

After more testing, this seems normal behaviour for the TNAS. I set the upsmon.conf and nut.conf files back to original and rebooted. Connected my UPS directly to the TNAS via USB and rebooted again, UPS is detected, then I configured the safe mode. I unplugged the UPS from the wall, then TNAS goes ...

Re: [HOW TO] Set up NUT netclient mode on your TNAS to monitor a UPS

Update
Doing some more testing, I've found that this doesn't properly get my TNAS to go into hibernation.
Docker is still running and accessing hard drives, including reading and writing.
I'll update again when I've worked out what additional commands are needed.

[HOW TO] Set up NUT netclient mode on your TNAS to monitor a UPS

Background After recently buying a UPS and learning about the possibilities with NUT , I quickly began going insane trying to configure the TNAS to run as either: The netserver, or; A netclient It ended up being somewhat simple to get it going as a netclient, but this was only after learning how it...

Re: UPS compatibility

What about the CyberPower Systems CP1350AVRLCD? Is this one compatible? I see the 1500 & 1000, but not the 1300, on the compatibility list. Have you connected it to see if it's detected correctly? As per TMroy's first reply : but without a real testing, we can't list it. I rolled the dice, unbo...

Re: Docker httpd Document Root

If you follow the guide, including the pictures, you need to create a couple of folders in the "public" folder on the NAS, as per step 5. Their image shows on the left: /mnt/md0/public/https/www So create a folder called https in the public folder, then another called www inside https 1.jp...

Re: UPS compatibility

I've left it connected this whole time, and just did another test.
I turn off power at the wall socket for the UPS.
TNAS goes into safe mode, I confirmed I can't load up the web UI.
Turn power on at the wall socket for the UPS.
TNAS boots up again.

Is there anything else you need?

Re: UPS compatibility

Great, thanks Roy!
Just to confirm, do you want to check it now and then to make sure it's still showing up, or just check it again in two weeks?
And do you want me to disconnect the power to test the NAS goes to safe mode?

Re: UPS compatibility

And another question.
The 'TNAS as a network UPS server' option.
Does this work for any devices on the network? Or only other TNAS devices on the network?

I have an OPNsense router I want to shut down as well, and possibly more devices in the future.

Re: UPS compatibility

I've connected it up and it works!
Can you add this model to the supported list?

Is there a way to have the NAS shut down instead of going into safe mode?
