Re: USB Copy fails with sleeping drives

Sorry, it looks like my attempt to include a couple of snapshots has failed.

Re: USB Copy fails with sleeping drives

@Ryan The manual mount command is: mount.ntfs-3g /dev/sdh1 /mnt/usb/usbshare2 The OEM USB drives were formatted as EXT4 on my client machine (I didn't know if the NAS's format would allow tuning of the partition parameters) before being connected to the NAS. So the mount command I used is correct f...

Re: Internal NAS to USB throughput low

How do you check the backup speed when using USB Copy? While the copy was progressing I had a SSH connection open into the NAS. During the copying I executed these commands twice after about 5 minute delay: date ; df -m /mnt/usb/usbshare2-1 { delay for ~5 minutes } date ; df -m /mnt/usb/usbshare2-1...

USB Copy fails with sleeping drives

Hi, I found out the hard way that USB Copy fails in several repects if a USB drive happens to be sleeping. After being disappointed with the performance of the in-built RSync server, I tried to use USB Copy to make scheduled backups from the internal NAS to external storage. All appeared to go well ...

Internal NAS to USB throughput low

Hi, I am experience lower than expected disk throughput when backing up files from internal NAS to an externally connected JBOD array via USB3.0 (HW & SW details below). When copying files from a network client onto the NAS via FTP, I consistently see a throughput of 100MB/s. However when backin...

Re: change time server

Thanks. You should also look allowing the user to set the frequency and timing of 'ntpdate' requests, individual user's requirements may vary in respect to time fluctuations. Look at the SSD TRIM timing UI, this would work for NTP as is.

Hi,
there are a number of security oriented email providers; protonmail.com was the one I used in this instance.

TOS 4.1.27 feedback

Hi, As a first time NAS user I though you may be interested in my experiences with setting up a F4-210 and in particular battling with TOS 4.1.27. General Comments: There are a lot of minor issues that could have been picked up early if sufficient time and resources were given to a dedicated test te...

Re: System Time Not Correct

Hi, I posted this fix https://forum.terra-master.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=412 in another (older) post. It should fix your issue as long as you don't apply another NTP change from the GUI. I also forgot to mention it would be a good idea to ensure your local NTP server is pingable and that run...

Re: change time server

@anyway I've recently purchased a F4-210 and had the same issue. I didn't want to go near any Chinese services and the only other option asia.pool.ntp.org failed while updating the system time. The drop down list of NTP servers is limited and offers mostly ~~~.cn NTP servers. SSH into the NAS as roo...
