The ONLY firmware I have found to have a stable connection is 4.1.27. I have updated with each new release and it afterwards the disconnects start again so I have to downgrade each time.

Re: F2-221 Random Network Disconnects
I updated to 4.1.30 at the weekend and suffered again from the Lan randomly dropping off again. It would only be connectable for a few hours at most. I have since gone back to 4.1.27 and have had no issues again.

Re: There is no VPN option anywhere
If you're desperate for a VPN you can always get a mini router such as this https://www.amazon.co.uk/GL-iNet-GL-AR300M-Pre-installed-Performance-Programmable/dp/B01I92T754/ref=asc_df_B01I92T754/?tag=bingshoppinga-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=&hvpos=&hvnetw=o&hvrand=&hvpone=&hvp...

Re: F5-221 crashes / disconnects
Hi, it just replaces the TOS data, it doesn’t touch any other content you have in your drives.

Re: F2-221 Random Network Disconnects
You can try installing 4.0.9 or 4.1.18, both were perfectly stable for me. The downside is you get slightly older versions of the apps, but at least it might get your connection stable.

Re: F2-221 Random Network Disconnects
Hi Does that manual install wipe your raid/data or just refresh the OS? Thanks! I have 4.1.21-2003031748 which reports to be the latest and I am reluctant to downgrade (unless I get officially informed that it will fix the issue). My Mac OS (two different machines with Catalina 10.15.5) both discon...

Re: F2-221 Random Network Disconnects
Hi Same problem for me. Just bought Model F2-221 a week ago on TOS 4.1.27-2006301044 using windows 10 or android phones via app and NAS drops off network after a couple of hours or even less. Applied static IP via TOS and my Asus router (never had this problem with any other device) and locked all ...

Re: F2-221 Random Network Disconnects
Just to update this thread. 4.1.27 solved my disconnections and the unit is rock solid now. Thanks.

Re: F2-221 Random Network Disconnects
You can cancel the remote session. I successfully downgraded TOS to 4.0.9 and the unit has been stable on the local network all day. Whilst not ideal, the NAS is working, so I guess it’s an issue with 4.1.24.
