For me.... all data on drives that I removed the 4 partitions from was gone.
Data on USB where I backed all data up to was fine. Unplugged it before removing partitions and then re-plugged it back in once upgraded to the new version.

So I reached out to tech for more details. Unplug usb drive... When done you can plug it back in and all your data will be there. You must delete all 4 partitions on any drive that shows 4 partitions. For me. It was sda, sdb and sd. Now I received a message that volume was in use when I deleted the ...
