Re: [Discussion] Is USB Backup using the .ter_sys folder for mirrored backups? [SOLVED]
Hooray! Very happy to see that this has been made included in the 7.0.043 release. I tested and seems to be working just fine. Thank you!

Re: Back up through TerraSync takes twice as much space as the folder itself
I realize this is an old post, but I figured I'd add on here, because my issue is very much related to what has been discussed previously. I ran into this issue of how much space TerraSync is taking up when I created a USB backup job that contained a folder that had been previously used in a TerraSy...

Re: [Discussion] Is USB Backup using the .ter_sys folder for mirrored backups? [SOLVED]
The .ter_sys directory is not visible, even with 'show hidden files' checked and therefore cannot be excluded from the backup. I figured out what is going on. It is a TerraSync issue, so I will take it there. Still, it would be a very significant enhancement if the .ter_sys diectory could be exclude...

Re: [Discussion] Is USB Backup using the .ter_sys folder for mirrored backups? [SOLVED]
Yes; it would be wonderful if the hidden directory would not be backed up by USB copy. Since the odds are any USB device used for backup purposes will not have the same storage capacities as the NAS, doubling the size of backups is kind of self-defeating. The other thing I am referring to is not an ...

Re: [Discussion] Is USB Backup using the .ter_sys folder for mirrored backups? [SOLVED]
I don't quite understand your suggestion. To expand on my setup a bit, my file structure looks like this: Volume1 /Media (this is a shared folder) /Audio /Library1 ... /Video /Photo There are also the #recycle and (very well hidden) .ter_sys folders under /Media. The /Media directory is the backup s...

[Discussion] Is USB Backup using the .ter_sys folder for mirrored backups? [SOLVED]
I set up a USB backup task in mirror mode to backup files from my NAS (F4-425 Plus, TOS 7.0.0392) to my DAS DS 2-310. I noticed during the initial run that I was getting a lot of strangely named files getting copied and it was taking a long time. When the first run finished, I noticed the size of th...

Re: TOS 7 Beta Is Available for Testing
Confirming an issue I saw posted earlier: Can't change permissions on shared folders created in TOS 6. Workaround: Edit share; check option to enable storage quota. Then, change permissions. Will see 'Operation succeeded' when applied. In list of shares, storage quota will show enabled, even if no v...

Re: [Share] Disks not detected, volumes and data disappeared, how I recovered
I have also described the steps I took in the email thread I have going with support. The last response I have received (from Clem) said the issue likely indicates a hardware or power supply problem and that I should either get a larger power adapter, or replace the entire set of products. I am usin...

[Share] Disks not detected, volumes and data disappeared, how I recovered
I'm posting this in case anyone else experiences similar issues. Hopefully, this may shorten resolution for someone else. What happened: I have an F4-425 Plus, configured with 4 HDDs in one storage pool with three volumes and an NVMe SSD as a separate storage pool with one volume. I shut down my NAS...
