Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
The issue is that the LUN's disappeared after the upgrade but it seems the actual files (VMDK files) are now orphaned and I have no way of seeing them to delete - via the GUI. Not sure if that makes sense but I'm sure it can be addressed in that session.

Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
For the time being, we have not found any obvious problems related to this from the system report you provided. However, we note that you are using TOS 5.1.67 and your HDD is still in the old TOS4 storage structure. These HDDs are barely able to use TOS 5.1.67, and may cause various blockages and a...

Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
Log bundle has been sent. this might be a silly comment so please feel free to disregard, but how are you trying to access the NAS drive from a windows computer via the name or IP? reason for asking is i have found that windows sometimes prevents access to the name if it thinks it is a different ma...

Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
Are there logs that I can collect and send to your support staff? I have no interest in slinging mud on some internet forum. I'm seeking a genuine solution to the issue I faced. Thus far no one has suggested or even hinted at a possible solution or even a potential cause for the issue so yes I am un...

Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
Why would it be the hard drives or partitions? I still have all of my data, system boots and works fine drive integrity as per the OS is good. The question is why did it happen and why did it just as suddenly stop? I have over 12TB's of data stored and what I suspect is that the update changed files...

Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
I understood what you were saying. I did indeed follow the instructions of method A to migrate away from TOS 4.x. I used an earlier version of 5.x (https://download2.terra-master.com/TOS_X642.0_5.0.120_00154_2206121730.ins) and when that failed I tried the newest version found from the link you prov...

Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
In the interest of coming full circle on this.....I started coping data from the device on Friday and didn't get a chance to check the progress over the weekend until today (Sunday). At some point between the system shutdown (not good, clearly) and as I am going through to see what was copied and wh...

Re: Windows users cannot use SMB file service to access?
I gave this a shot and the fails. https://i.postimg.cc/4mSJ7gbc/TOS-Failed-Update.jpg A few issues: 1. Fails with no real error other than failed to update. A prescriptive error would go a long way here 2. This update version was no where to be found by searching your site. A central repository woul...
