Re: [Help] Slow smb speed in one direction
The max access, real world, speed on 2.5g lan is about 260 to 280MBps. So the raid config would hit that even with older drives in raid 5. The copy performance is likely due to network adapter advanced settings. Receive or transmit buffers, interrupts, to name a couple. Secondary, open powershell an...

Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
Ok so upon further investigation it appears certain command or "features" aren't enabled in this samba build. Was able to confirm after some resets and further configuration multichannel based on windows 11 checks. Was able to confirm multi paths on both source interfaces to both NAS inter...

Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
I have tested with the secondary NAS link on a 10.*.*.5 net and there was no difference other than an odd issue with plex locally being unable to see the NAS... but web access worked. Found the network setting in plex was specifically pointed to the 192.*.*.5 address. This is odd because it was prev...

Re: [Help] SMB multichannel working?
I had previously configure LACP on nas and switch. But this fundamentally disables multipath for a singular smb transfer. The NAS was reconfigured with out bonding and had each adapter configured for same subnet with only one port identifying a gateway. TOS6 should still confirm multichannel is enab...

[Help] SMB multichannel working?
I've been investigating multichannel on f6-424max and it appear than multichannel doesn't work. I've "edited" the reference file for smb.conf so the multi channel line is included after smbd restart but after running testparm it throws errors. the GUI check box is checked but doesn't seem ...

Re: Remote / Mobile Access
I would suggest using the software or app associated to your camera from the manufacturer company. Most camera companies have accounts and software/apps for use with their cameras. You can still use SM to record the feeds... and then use the manufacturer apps to access the feed locally and remote. (...

Re: "apt" usage
It won't really work. It will find updates but fail to apply them. This is linked to the account framework and no access to actual root. If you want to install packages that are not included in the GUI list... reinstall with a different OS... likely a regular linux install and then trim and customiz...

Re: Plex Media Server Instructions
...and remember to mount a temporary "disk" in ram for transcodes. mount -t tmpfs -o size=16G tmpfs /mnt/ramdisk Just save to a file and have it run as a startup event. Point the transcode folder in plex to /mnt/ramdisk Good to go for reducing writes to NVME drive due to transcoding traffic.

Re: New Disk and TRAID
Check Control Panel > Storage Managment > Disk. One will be labeled system disk. If the system disk is the NVME drive then you should be able to delete the volume or storage pool associated to the HDD raid. I am unsure if it will allow removal during a initialization/rebuild/verification so you may ...

Re: [Help] Setting up Traid
The NVME cache idea is great if many sources use the same data. Like if you were setup to push out system updates to many computers. ...or perhaps if you host lots of office documents shared between many people. If you are plex or any surveillance the nvme cache will do NOTHING. Also for plex... jus...
