Re: BIOS boot order - trying out other OS without dismantle
Here are the steps to adjust the boot order: 1. Connect the mouse, monitor, and your USB boot device. Press the power button on the TNAS to start it, then immediately and repeatedly press the "Esc" key to enter the BIOS setup page. If you do not successfully enter the BIOS, you can restar...

Re: BIOS boot order - trying out other OS without dismantle
Thanks for the reminder Gremlin, I will also make a backupof the current TOS 5 before they roll out TOS 6 just in case. I will also remove the internal USB to be safe. With all that said, I'm still curious to know if it is possible to disable Secure Boot, do CSM and change boot order to boot from th...

Re: BIOS boot order - trying out other OS without dismantle
Will there be a chance that the USB inside will get overwritten? Does the USB that contains TOS bootloader also registers as a storage when setting up NAS OS? Why would you want to preserve the old outdated bootloader? In case its overwritten in some ways, how is it different from the download page ...

BIOS boot order - trying out other OS without dismantle
Hi all, I tried searching everywhere but no one posted about entering the BIOS, changing secure boot to DISABLE and to CSM to change the boot order when installing different NAS OS. I wonder if its possible to try out other OS and use the USB port behind the unit, change the boot order to boot from ...

Re: How to Install and Initialize My Newly Purchased TNAS Device?
I'm still not sure how to make the remote access work yet since I am using softether in my diy router. I think plugging it in directly to the router will still work since the router will assign ip address to the NAS. I'm not sure but maybe connecting directly to terramaster VPN will be faster. I mig...

Re: How to Install and Initialize My Newly Purchased TNAS Device?
Thank you all for the clarification. Seems like the safe option is to buy new disk at least one to keep on running. My plan is to run NAS so I can access my files anywhere around the world. I have DAS D4-320 with 4tb on each bay to serve as a backup. DAS will only be connected once a week to sync in...
